JMC Weekend and Summer School Educational Program
JMC’s weekend and summer school provides a comprehensive and relevant Islamic Education based on the Qur’an and Sunnah. It serves a widely diverse group of students, equipping them with the tools to live as practicing Muslims in an ever-dynamic modern world. Admitting students from the age of 6 years, regardless of any race, color, nationality, ethnic, cultural, and social backgrounds. Classes continue throughout the year.
The classes are held on weekends between 9:45 AM to 1:30 PM. Moreover, summer classes are held in July and August from Saturday to Tuesday, between 9:45 AM to 1:30 PM. We have separate classes for males and females, with qualified male teachers teaching the boys and the qualified female teachers teaching the girls.
Course Outline
Students are taught to learn the Arabic alphabet, their shapes, harakaat, with the correct pronunciation and articulation through the proper Makhaarij (points of Articulation). Students then progress to learn the rules of tajweed: Madd (Prolongation), Ghunnah, Qalqalah etc. Students having mastered the textual recitation of the Quran with proper tajweed and having successfully read the entire Quran with fluency.
1. Learn to read Quran with proper rules of tajweed
2. Memorization of 30th Juz, and other important surah’s.
3. Islamic Studies five pillars islam in detail, introductory Fiqh of ‘Ibada. (worship) Tahaarah, (Cleanliness) Wudhoo, Ghusl, Tayammum, Azan, Iqaamah, and Method of Performing and Rules of salaah, Jumu’a, Eid, and Janazah salah (funeral prayer), and Practical Salaah Training, Sawm (fasting), Zakaah, Hajj & umrah, Halal & Haraam, and Forbidden Income.
4. Memorization of Daily Duaas with English translations.
5. Memorization of forty Ahadith with English translations and narrations. 6. Adaab/Manners (Islamic Social Etiquettes and Discipline)
Fees:
First time registration fee: $25.00 – Monthly tuition fee: $75.00
The academic year is divided into three semesters. Test and parent Teacher Conference will be end of each semester. The semester Starts are as following:
1st Semester September to December.
2nd Semester January to April.
3rd Semester May to August.
Upon the complete of weekend School Program students will be awarded with the prestigious certificate by Weekend School of Jamaica Muslim Center.
